IELTS - Scores and Interpretation
Band scores are recorded on a Test Report
Form, showing overall ability and performance in all 4 module.
There are 9 band scores, from Band 1 -
Non-User (essentially no ability to use the language beyond a
few isolated words) to Band 9 - Expert User ( has full,
operational command of the language, accurate and fluent with
complete understanding).
To achieve an Overall Band Score of 6.0 or 6.5
, you need to be competent in all 4 modules at a higher level than
that of an SPM credit.
There is NO PASS for IELTS
You score shows your proposal institution of
study, how good your command of English is and how much
tuition you may need before you begin your course.
For Australia-bound students here, the IDP
offices throughout Malaysia could tell you what IELTS scores are
required for entrance to various schools and universities in
Australia.
Results can be obtained within 13 days
of testing.
