Guilford College draws on Quaker and liberal arts traditions to prepare men and women for a lifetime of learning, work and constructive action dedicated to the betterment of the world. Guilford is a four-year university offering degrees in 38 different fields to 2,800 students.

Learners of various cultures interact daily in an atmosphere of respect, support and acceptance. A student-to-faculty ratio of 16 to 1 and an average class size of 19 foster student-centered instruction that nurtures each individual amid an intentionally diverse community. Greensboro is a vibrant city of 260,000 residents, offering numerous cultural, career and recreational opportunities.

It is situated among the gently rolling hills of North Carolina's Piedmont, with warm, wet winters and hot, humid summers. The city provides free transportation for students and cross-registration between the five universities in town. The Appalachian Mountains are 200 km to the northwest, and the North Carolina coast is 300 km to the southeast.
